Roberto Fabbroni was born in Argentina. After his studies in conducting and composition at the Peabody Institute Baltimore, USA and at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario, Argentina, he continued his education at the invitation of Daniel Barenboim in several study visits as a guest student at the German State Opera in Berlin, the Bayreuth Festival and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

He then returned to his home country, where he was artistic director of the Orquesta de Cámara Municipal de Rosario from 2002 and music director of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario from 1996. At the same time, he made guest appearances with various symphony orchestras in Argentina, conducted numerous new music concerts and was a permanent guest conductor of the Opera de Rosario.

Since 2010 Roberto Fabbroni lives in Switzerland. In the 2011/12 season, he conducted the revival of the musical "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" by Jan Dvorak at the Staatstheater Meiningen and the Landestheater Eisenach, Germany. After conducting the Berner Musikkollegium and the Summer Ensemble of the Bern University Orchestra for several years, he has been conductor of the Orchester Liestal and permanent guest conductor of the Orchester Konolfingen since 2014. Since 2019, he has also been conductor of the Singkreis Gossau.

In the 2022/23 season, he was co-conductor at the Operettenbühne Bremgarten, where he was responsible for the preparation of the choir and conducted ten performances of the operetta "Die Fledermaus" by Johann Strauss.
